Toshiba Recalls 41K Satellite Laptops for Overheating

One of the largest computer companies, Toshiba has issued a notice of recall of about 41.000 laptops that have been spread over the world. This decision was taken, after the AC plug overheating and there have been 129 cases reported in the plastic casing around the AC plug is melted.

The affected models were sold between August 2009 and August 2010, such as Satellite T135, Toshiba Satellite T135D, and Toshiba Satellite ProT130.

To overcome this problem Toshiba asking customers to visit the Toshiba official website, and download a software called BIOS. This program will detect whether the computer is overheating or not.

If overheating detected by BIOS program, the customer must contact Toshiba. If the BIOS detects excess heat it will disable the device’s external power and display a message to customers immediately contact the Toshiba, so they will get a free repair.
